That's Essex man's mystic mandala which relates the cosmos to the funfair at Southend putting white stylettos just after the third glob of blue tak to the left of the white piece of tissue paper.

That good, huh!

The second pic shows what you can do if you get a puncture on the A127 and just happen to have a 401 in the boot.

the oracle rubber did not fit the 301.. but i was suprised how much the 301 platter rings..
the 124 is dead in comparison.. and at the moment does much cleaner top end and mids than the 301 with the same cart, but different arm, both on a 1" heavy ply plinth
bass is about the same on both
not a very accurate comparison i know...
the oracle rubber is just glued length of hollow rubber strip

If I stay in instead of goin t club on a Sunday night I save £20 to spend on rubber bands and I can post on ere, anyway Newcastle and Sunderland won so it will be full of Little Big Men full of it.
£15. and I've got my fuel money to spend thinking about some field coils, and more knitting needles.

Stopwatch ? Sundial more like !

Been away for a couple of days otherwise a rollicking would have been in order.

If Essex man drives an XR3i GTI turbo what does Kent man drive ?

Add me to the "O" ring list please if reasonably priced. :)

I'm not sure that wind up gramophones would benefit from such a modification, Philip.

My Nottingham Analogue Spacedeck has 2 similar o-ring rubber damping rings around the platter. These are part of the original design.

I'll experiment by removing them to see if there is any change to the sound.

No ? I'm sure Edison mentioned it in passing at the time.

Found this on the net !!

In the summer of 1929, the Edison company gave into the popular trend and introduced the Edison Portable Disc Phonograph with New Edison Needle Records, offering both the Diamond Discs and the new needle records simultaneously, and also the patented o-ring platter damper.

These changes did not measurably improve business, and on October 21, orders were given to close the Edison disc business, with the company stating that it would focus on the manufacture of its radio-phonographs in the future.
