Yes, I'm scheming with a guy on DIY Audio, Phil, I can't share a schematic yet but it'll be on the theme of the Pass VFET design

https://www.diyaudio.com/community/atta ... f.1035400/

I'm working on a build of the 2SK60 variant of the pass VFET at the moment (I have three pairs of the Sony 2SK60 devices).

The scheme is to do something along similar lines but with a Tokin THF-51S SIT instead of the VFET and a puck Mosfet instead of the IRF250 and perhaps another variant with puck Mosfets in both positions.

A pair of the pucks could be good for a meaty MoFo project

I did build something with a pair of pucks, but I can't remember the details. I will try searching, it's on this forum somewhere.

It was a Nelson Pass design for a single ended 50W mosfet (SOT-227 package) amp, with Schade feedback to give it triode type curves.

See post #12 for the circuit.

So how did it perform?

Well, like so many of the amps I built it morphed into something different, in this case the MoFo.

I remember it sounded rather good, but, even with the big heat sink and a fan, it got quite hot.

In many ways, the main enjoyment I got was from the actual build.

I can understand that in your case.

What with your taste in music its never going to be easy to find any enjoyment there....
