Bella la basso di strad

prompted by mention of my beloved Bella on another thread.

at the beginning of last year in the middle of a clearout it was suggested that I move Bella on as she only gathers dust at chez nous..we didn't get round to it...

This Christmas the family went to the inlaws in France for a fortnite, without me this time. So, ever the cheapskate, I'm not putting on the central heating for just me....it's too cold in the workroom to do any amp building or aeroplane modelling and too cold in the attic(studio) to do any weather station mods or audio recording, so what's a chap to do.

I downloaded new DAW software(a free replacement for the software I've been paying through the nose for, for years) to a newish laptop and set up in the music room, with reduced facility, to do some recording with Bella. I'd never done any recording with Bella before because I can't get her into the attic for practical reasons.

so here's a bit of intro done with no monitors(headphones only) and much reduced digital interface(Steinberg UR22) and one Samson CO2 condenser. Sounds promising to me...so far so good, but any comments would be welcome.

There is a problem with the link.

When I hover the cursor over the link it says it will open in a new window, but despite dozens of right clicks, left clicks or any other sort of mouse action, nothing happens.

Of course, it could be me. :)

Sounds good to me ed
Got it on the phone by long press on the link, opened in new tab and it downloaded via google drive

Nice and clean bass sound for being done with a single mic and simple interface

Not sure how, but I managed a download and played in VLC media player.

I'm no expert, but it sounded OK to me.

Just downloaded and played it on Sandrine's laptop.....it sounds worse than crap.....I wouldn't recommend it to anyone intending to play it with laptop speakers.

I like the sound of Bella all the way up to where the walking part comes in just over halfway through. I M O The sound changes here and Bella loses the woody definition sound and things sound disjointed here to my ears. But then the woody grooves come back to save the last quarter.

We're still mates though :)
