does anybody know of any method(s) to stop a cat spraying in the house. I have a recurring problem in my work room. I read on the web that washing down with vinegar is effective, but I've done that 2 or 3 times now and it still happens.

A lurcher would sort that out for you in a flash.

But other than that, is the cat neutered?

No idea, it/they are not my cats. It could be one or more of a neighbour's cats.
If we leave the back door open there is often a cat to be found wandering around the house.....They're organised, they have no rules, and I'm beginning to think they don't like me.

It is necessary to leave the door open in this weather. Yes, I could keep the door closed but the mem sahib would complain...I'd then have to work out which was worse.

In that case I refer the reader to the first part of my answer.

You could try one of those door mesh things, with that close with magnets..

Maybe a fiver well spent ?

You can get cat scarers that are activated by movement and set off an annoying (to cats) series of ultrasonic clicks. Put them by the doors, preferably not facing the sun (as that overloads the movement detectors).

We use them to stop the cats crapping in the herb garden & veg patch :)

e.g. (these are the ones we use)

V. Odd. Looks OK here... Here is the URL as text:

Code: Select all

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00FXSU2WK
Seems to be something odd the forum s/w is doing, or maybe your browser/setup...

Odd. I just tried it on iPadOS (almost the same as iOS) 15.6.1 using Safari 15 & Chrome 104.0.5112.99 and both show exactly what I posted before, i.e. the full amazon link. Android 12 is also showing it OK, as it my Windows 11/Chrome 104.0.5112.81 (now updated to .102) box.

I would have thought more likely to be down to some individual browser setting, anti adverts, that sort of thing.

I'm running Pi-hole, but nothing else. If I turn on ublock origin (which I dislike), the amazon link does indeed go away.
