I just went passive with a very good last cap on the PS ( did |i mention that it's a Black Gate WKZ ? )
I thought about this and concluded that by 200Hz , almost all of the demand will be taken up by the final cap.

There's a lot in here, page 3 is where I made the decision about the power supply -

Later on somewhere around page 7 or 8 is where I had a U-turn about the driver and went for a pentode.

Yep, my suggestion would be simplicity. A lot of the problems that we have all these complex solutions for just don't exist for a 45.

Bugle was dead good but ... thinks... the 45se with the triode of an ecl82 and the pentode as ccs for the 45 - that was my fave rave.

Where on earth did it come from!?

Gordon Rankin ?

You sold it to me, I sold it to Mo (remember him ?) and I believe he had it modified, but I forget the details.

Well I'd just about made my mind up to build a Bugle but I do have some ECL82 somewhere, have either of you got the circuit per chance? I'd be interested to see the CCS.

Was it a 'Rankin'? ... coming back to me ..... Mo used px4s and one went 'spung'. ( know the feeling) however I will have notes somewhere; like Bugle it may have originated in 'Sound Practices'.

Simon, I haven't got time this weekend. I too have some gorgeous ecl82s and enough 45s so I'm tempted myself. Can't remember the psu details at all tho'.

I'll have a further Google and see if I can find it Andrew, but no probs, when you get chance would be appreciated.

(I remember Mo badgering you for the 45PP but don't recall you ever building ECL82 45.)

That looks like the one folks.

It came to me sans output transformers, and I fitted the James ones (6123HS ?) that still seem to be on it.

I can see (what look like) one ECL82.
