My old Black & Decker CF10 is past it's prime, and with a top mounted spool that has to have new cord wound on manually, it's a pain to use.
I went to B & Q to look at current models, the Bosch easy grass 26 was around £30, but the Bosch ART27 looked a lot more substantial at £65.
I left not knowing what to buy.
Any recommendations in the £30 - £70 range ? I'd not considered rechargeable, but should I ?

No idea, but need a new one too. My ancient black and decker is yet another thing that has given up the ghost, the bump feed mechanism ate itself a few weeks ago.
Im inclined to buy a cheap one given my run of bad luck with garden appliances of late but need to give it some thought too

I don't think I'd buy a corded tool again if I had a battery option. Probably depends on how big the garden is, and going battery adds significantly to the cost, unless you're already invested.
I used to have a corded Bosch strimmer 10/15 years ago but never got on with it, it just wasn't comfortable to use and didn't do a very good job. I bought a B&D cordless which has been good.

I've a decent petrol strimmer and a cheap rechargeable one, the rechargeable gets used nearly everytime, cost about £70 made by cobra. I've had it about 7 years so far, the stihl gets used every blue moon.
The tube manual is quite like a telephone book. The number of it perfect. It is useful to make it possible to speak with a girl. But we can't see her beautiful face from the telephone number

The Cobra GT600e (corded- 600W) looks quite nice at under £50.
There is a lawn mower dealer at Hempstead (near Saffron Walden - not far from me) I'll give him a ring Friday morning and see if he has one in stock for me to look at.

If anyone has an old (unused) strimmer that takes plastic blades I'd be interested in the hub/head/blade holder to see if I can adapt it to my old B & D strimmer.
