The tube manual is quite like a telephone book. The number of it perfect. It is useful to make it possible to speak with a girl. But we can't see her beautiful face from the telephone number

Best wishes for speedy recoveries James and Nick.

James, on a lighter note, my 2A3 C3m versions of your design have racked up over 8700 hours.

No worries about me it's James that has the heavy lifting. Looking forward to your return James.

Ta but it's annoying only. First one was 23rd Feb. Then a 5 week ish wait till a opticions appoitment on the 29th Mar to check the result of the first one. Then book the second eye. After that. So hopefully early April. I had a choice to fit lenses that correct for closeup or distance. I went for distance so basically the right eye focuses on infinity. My thought is that I can then get lenses made to correct at any distance. Kaye had multifocus lenses done privately a few years ago and that was all a bit quicker but I don't fancy having varifocus eyes (or the 7k bill).

Can still read a screen and type. Can also just about solder through hole parts but surface mount is a problem. But tried yesterday to make up some boards for the turntable supply and tried the paste stencil I got made with the boards but never used. It was a great success having done that I can see enough to place the parts and point the hot air gun at the board. But now thinking about a oven.

Biggest annoyance of the eyes is having had to cancel the first two track days I had booked. Fingers crossed the one at Croft in April will be possible.

Biggest surprise is to discover how much of the blue end of the spectrum I had lost before.

As I say all minor issues compared to James.

Just googled paste stencil, then watched a video. Didn’t even know it was a thing - but looked amazing.

All the very best to you too, James!

Don’t worry James. The ‘derailment’ gave more valuable information and insight than 100 threads of my inane ramblings.
