Has Star Wars had its day! If not - why not?
As Harrison commented to George, having read the script, ' you can write this shit but don't expect me to say it.' - the rest is history, I suppose.

The Mandelorion seems popular and well regarded.

Another one on my YouTube favourites list - Snowball Engineering.

Looks like an interesting and useful piece of woodworking kit.

USD 1700 or so. There's an enormous amount of PR going on for it at the moment, but on the serious woodwork forums there seems to be much scepticism about it's real value to the ordinary user. There's a lot of technology to go wrong and break and the longevity of the product is questionable. That said, they're a reputable company.
KISS as a principle is a good one.

You are a significant way with 1700 USD to a cnc router, which adds another sphere of things you can do which this cannot. Most of the finger joints and other joints can be done on a table saw with a simple jig.

Indeed. The Shaper Origin can do crazy things, though it costs more. Personally, I buy the best tool I can afford at the time and keep them for many many years. Simple & good works for me - I have good quality tools still in regular use from 40 years ago. Stuff I haven't used for five or ten years tends to go to eBay or boot fairs - this makes space for new stuffvinylnvalves wrote: ↑Sun May 21, 2023 10:06 am You are a significant way with 1700 USD to a cnc router, which adds another sphere of things you can do which this cannot. e.g. I have just started doing bodywork on my Landy which involves a lot of pop rivets. My arthritic hands start to hurt after a few rivets using my old manual riveter, so I just invested in a Cleco tool and fastners, plus one of these:
£36.15 51%OFF | 20000N Brushless Electric Rivet Gun 2.4-5.0mm Cordless Rivet Nut Gun Drill Insert Automatic Riveting Tool For Makita 18V Battery
https://a.aliexpress.com/_EwBwdK5
Arrived in 7 days. Well made and brilliant bit of kit that takes standard Makita LXT 18V batteries (all my battery tools are Makita). Makes single-handed banging in perfectly consistent rivets again and again a doddle - Just love it.

This is slightly musical in places.
If you've not seen this or heard of it, then you're in for a shock.
Viv Stanshall, Trevor Howard etc. Filmed at Knebworth, I believe.
