Shell quietly pulls the plug on hydrogen in the UK.
Only for cars.
Chicken and egg situation, only a few hydrogen fuelled cars and very few hydrogen filling stations.

I think the message is far more reaching than the headline and not a simple case of chicken and egg. The fundamental issues around production, distribution, storage and being ‘green’ are still barriers to adoption.

Yep, the "only a few" and "very few" is equally true of electric cars and for that mater petrol cars (back in the day), yet they seem to be doing ok.
While its true (I believe) that H2 is possibly an answer to heavy duty stuff and airplanes, it seems to me that H2 is a useful distraction from the fossil fuel industry to get a few more years of relevance and to delay EV adaption.

Huge lithium deposits under Bolivian salt flats.
This is a bit tragic... the salt flats are one of the great wonders of the world and indescribably beautiful... it'd be horrific if they were damaged/destroyed however Bolivia's government have indicated that they want the foreign currency mining would bring...
We haven't been to Bolivia for a while, but it's a wonderful (if complex) country...

Not quite on topic, but tentative tests by Rolls Royce in running jet engines on hydrogen.
But most of the hydrogen produced for industrial use today is obtained from a process which involves mixing high temperature steam with natural gas under high pressure.
