I watched this earlier, it's a cost of ownership experience between a Tesla model 3 and a similar specification ICE, in this case a Toyota Camry.
It's in the USA, but the comparisons are interesting.
Spoiler alert, the costs were about the same over 5 years.

So given UK fuel prices that would put the Tesla ahead on total cost of ownership. They also don't factor in the resale value of each car after 5 years. But there is nothing in the video that comes as a surprise.Spoiler alert, the costs were about the same over 5 years.

I've saved this to watch when I get home, so I have no idea of the actual content, or if there is a bias.
JayEmm has (or seems to have) interesting opinions on EVs so might be worth a watch.

Watched it earlier. It’s a pretty balanced watch vis a vis pros and cons.

I'd have to agree with Ali on that.

I watched another video about an hour ago about how EV's are 'stock-piling' in the US because no one wants to buy them. ICE, however, in one case (a pickup truck I think) can't get enough of.

Yep, 40 plus minutes I’ll never get back. Opinionated illogical reasoning based on ignorance. Sadly, his truth is not the truth.

Yep. We should applaud those who say what they mean and mean what they say.

I've just read about another Ioniq 5 in USA with battery damage where the quote to replace was $60K, and the car was written off.
BUT, presumably insurance will cover that, and the makers warranty on the battery is 8 years, same as Tesla.
Should give the owners peace of mind.

Battery damage caused by what? Manufacturer’s warrantee won’t cover damage caused by collision etc.pre65 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 24, 2023 1:13 pm I've just read about another Ioniq 5 in USA with battery damage where the quote to replace was $60K, and the car was written off.

Yes but at repair estimate of $60K, I would expect an insurance write off.pre65 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 24, 2023 1:56 pmGreg wrote: ↑Sun Dec 24, 2023 1:51 pmBattery damage caused by what?
