They are not even trying to keep fingers away from those anode caps.

Excuse me while I get my tissues.

Looking forward to hearing them when Covid restrictions cease, if they ever do for over 70s. :(

What do you think of them David, and has our Nick heard them yet ?

No. But would want to hear them with some better speakers (snigger).

There are 2 massive thick slabs of glass go in the front chief, took them off to move the bloody things, they weigh about 35kg each.

The tube manual is quite like a telephone book. The number of it perfect. It is useful to make it possible to speak with a girl. But we can't see her beautiful face from the telephone number

The fact that you can take them off means I stick with my comments. Should have a interlock to stop them running like that.

If I recall from my working days, you should need a tool to remove 'safety covers', (and that's not the person).

As Nick said, with those voltages, fail safe interlocks would be good because there's nothing to stop someone powering up without a tube, and the cap is unlikely to be IP2x. Sould all be in the CE marking and risk assessment, (whoever is the EU importer).
TD-125/RB250/MC25FL & 'Snail' phono, NAS/SBT with CS4398 DAC, 41MP pre & MoFo Power, still messing with OBs.

Interesting though. Can't see a driver valve, wonder what it uses. SS hybrid??? Any idea of HT - looks a fairly compact build for such a monster of a valve.

Those caps were never designed to have any safety function, and there is probably exposed metal below them. Not David’s fault though, only having a bit of sun with it.

Simon: I think the drive stage is in the middle box and just the output stage and power supply is in those boxes.

Isn't there an articulated test finger of 12mm dia and 80mm long?

Suppose this is the same safety concern with any imported or domestically-built amp using anode caps, where none of the caps alone are likely to meet the above.

I wonder how many really have been thoroughly risk assessed when considering CE compliance. Hope the importers have good liability insurance and solicitors.

The glass guard holding posts need a couple of retaining grub screws to comply.

The finned caps for 100th and friends are even less safety conscious. I have some somewhere

Ah yes, gotcha now. I was too busy looking at the large photos of the "widowmakers".
