Just spent a fabulous morning at Prospect Cottage on Dungeness beach.

For many years we've been visiting the nature reserve, even swimming off the beach, and have been round the garden loads of times, but the house has always been a private residence and never open...

Since July, Creative Folkstone have occasionally opened the house - there's a couple of slots left before Christmas then nothing until July '23.

If you like Jarman's work or are just interested in him as a person, or love the garden, then I 110% recommend booking a visit. The guides are excellent and it's a truly inspiring place. Only a very few people allowed at one time and no photography...

Really really interesting...

Just a shame about the wheelie bins but I guess that's modern Britain for you.

I moved them round from the other side deliberately... from this side you can see the John Donne poem , The Sunne Rising... however you get the added bonus of the other couple who were on the house tour with us looking at the beehive, which I was looking at before, so now they get the added pleasure of the wheelie bins... but we get to see them wondering if there were any bees in the hive (there weren't, I checked). I suppose I could have put one of them into each bin, which would have tidied up the image a bit... Mind you, if they'd taken a photo from there, they would had got me AND the wheelie bins in frame, which would possibly have ruined their day...

Just been to Specsavers in Sudbury to pick up my new glasses. Everything seems much clearer now. :D

Before leaving Sudbury I called in at a cake shop, and purchased two large split jam and cream doughnuts and two large Belgian buns.

We've just finished the doughnuts, they were absolutely delicious, but mon visage was very messy, so needed a good wash afterwards.

Belgian buns saved for later.

I always enjoyed it down there. There's something about big sky, amazing light etc.

Our kitchen chairs are coming up to 10 years old and had started to fade, so when we ordered a new sofa I added on 5 m of the same material to re cover the chairs to match.

Recovering them turned into a 2 day job but all 6 are done now. The foam on the seats was a little thin so I added an extra layer of heavy duty foam, it has transformed how comfortable they are, and they don't have that feeling of being sat on a board, which the chairs had once they had been sat for an hour.
Must say when we bought them I was disappointed with the foam, but it has not flattened over the years, it was just never supportive enough.

I'm pleased now how they have turned out for a diy job, but of course the main thing is the boss is very happy..

I’ve fitted the conical stylus to the Lenco and am going through a few 12in singles from the 1980s.
Well, it is Friday. :)
