T’other side of the moor from here. Nice place though. There’s a wonderful Aladdin’s Cave of a hardware shop there that’s worth the trip on its own. If you missed that Nick you missed a treat! Not to mention Chagstock which I’ve been meaning to go to for years
You sure it's not Chagfest?
I did look at the hardware store in the square. Very eclectic. Proper shop.
TBF, all the shops were pretty good. The farm shop was superb and run by another beekeeper. Lots of interesting, real, shops. Great delis, bakers, bookshops, ironmongers etc. Very genuine farming town. Nice people. Lots of non-chelsea-tractor Landrovers - covered in mud and sometimes with sheep or a sheepdog in the back.
Super pubs too - had dinner at The Globe Inn on Sunday - really excellent and a proper unspoilt pub. The Chagford Inn does excellent food - in fact ALL the pubs were excellent.
Big arts community too. All-round top place.
