Yes, that's the chap ed, I remember now. Just need to stick anything in the credentials box. Essentially mine's the same as Chris' except I'm less imaginative and used 1 for both Username and Password.

I've never tried Spotify on LMS - would my missus' free account work or does it need to be a paid version?

Pretty sure it requires premium

Okay thanks Max, I thought it might.

For those that have tried, how does Spotify compare to others like Tidal for sound quality?

Spotify streams at 320kbps, so it has lossy compression.
Tidal HiFi streams FLAC in the main, so lossless compression.

Spotify sounds pretty good for what it is, but I always bought the CD if I really liked something.
With Tidal I'm less inclined to buy the CD - now it has to fall into the really, really, really like category.

Hmm, I subscribe (or rather, I bought a lifetime membership when it was cheap) to Roon which presently accesses Tidal or Qobuz. I don’t like Tidal because its high res is all MQA which for my ears, doesn’t work. In contrast, Qobuz doesn’t use MQA and high res is simply a detailed flac file. There is a reputation of Qobuz having a limited library, but this is now getting much better and most stuff I want to source (even historical) is available. Very happy with my streaming service and happy to give Qobuz £250 a year for that service. As music is my primary enjoyment, £250 pales into insignificance compared with the Virgin Media or Sky charges for TV, and hopefully, I’ve just found a way around that......

I don't use Roon, Greg, so the MQA bit is something I don't have access to.
Bog standard FLAC sounds fine.
