put my eroica in it, ran it into a little bear t8-1 fet head amp and into the benedict audio phono stage rather than digging out the xlps.

The little bear is surprisingly good straight out of the box, I can't really hear it much.

Doesn't seem to be adding or taking much of anything away, might take it to bits and have a look at improving it.

Psu section will be the place to start methinks

Given how nice this project 9cc arm is im intrigued by the 12" 12cc, 10.5 g effective mass for that one.
Id be willing to bet it would be an absolute cracker
How to justify 800 quid...........

Took the eroica off it and put the at150 sa on it.
Realised why I went with this cart in the first place, its just so well rounded works really well in the project arm

I really really like this deck arm and cart combo.

I don't think a major resonance in the midrange to add some 'zing' or 'shout' (HFW tests) is a good idea personally but your mileage may vary on this one.

Why not look here - proper tonearms it seems made by a dedicated engineer and 'pivoted' in the manner of the original Gray models (a kind of uni pivot plus ball-in-fluid bath arrangement) with add-on rests and cueing devices if necessary. Still cheaper than the thing you're currently using... ;)

Thanks for that link - very interesting. My long-term aim for 103R etc is to use a 12" unipivot with an ebony wand ( and some headsheel mass) . It might be some of the parts from his unit would be very handy. But it would be nice to try the standard unit anyway, the price is manageable.

No good for any AT's apart from possibly the AT-F7, but a Hana or DL110 should be fine. The extensive fluid pivot damping/support should take care of any potential instability - I think.

Ah right - but interesting it's heavy - he doesn't provide effective mass numbers on there. How does it look and work ?
