That's very dilligent - I'm not sure many of us would have been able to resist hooking up a test speaker by now.
Sorry, I couldn't resist!

Have listened for one hour and this amp has great potential :mrgreen: :mrgreen:
All the capacitors are new so no tweaking till is set properly .
With brass instruments it tend to sound a bit grainy, but hopefully it disappears.
I have 6,8uf Obligato oil caps for bypass the output caps evt :roll:

It's a little early for these kind of recommendations as you have just started putting the basic parts together but the "grainyness" disappears - among other wonderful developments - if you use a Maida regulator for the 6SN7.

Give it a try - will be interesting to get you're view on the result.

I'm resurrecting my own 6C33C project and will use a maida reg on the 6SN7 stage.

Wolfgang, have you considered using current sources for the plate loads of the 6SN7 sections?

I didn't think about this, Ray. What do you have in mind as HV CCS?

It was talk about choke loading and the like and I'm aware that K&K Audio have a selection of low-price current source kits and was thinking it might be interesting to try them out. They feature a little down this page;

http://www.kandkaudio.com/other-kits/

I already have the option to use the K&K Audio current sink on the cathode of the output valve.
