I'm using a spare piece of blue acrylic sheet as a baseplate, and using M4 X 15mm spacers to raise it up a bit in the case allowing a bit of airflow.
At the moment I can't find my box of nylon spacers, I have just ordered some more so that might hold me up a bit.
Got a blood spot on my leg where I was drilling freehand and drilled into myself. But it's only a minor wound. No fun without a bit of blood now and then.

Far from ideal !
Reminds me of the time I reached into my briefcase at work , searching for something, then felt a pain in my finger, and blood. Close inspection showed a single-edged razor blade without its cardboard guard piece, standing edge-up in the bottom of that section. 'spose it served me right for nicking them from work for home jobs !

The piece of acrylic that I'm using as a base (within the case) has been out in the conservatory for a long time, and the protective coating both sides has degraded enough that it won't strip off as it should.
I have managed to get one side off using a thumbnail after the coating was softened by hot tap-water, but the other side is proving more difficult.
There's no panic as I need more fixings to continue and they are due Tuesday/Wednesday.

The blue acrylic base plate (no steel ) is held above the case floor with a number of spacers, but I realised it was going to be a nightmare to assemble.
So, in the end, I used some acrylic solvent to bond the spacers to the case.
Problem solved.
Another batch of enthusiasm might come later on.
