The thought had crossed my mind as well. All it would need to provide is evidence, that would be a start.

Thanks - agree about the size. Driven bigger and not as much fun as the smaller CC's on the Queens highway.

Ah, DTB - you remembered! I'm profoundly touched (or so my shrink told me). Thank you.

The photo says "1939" but in fact it is a 1936/8 model. Noted experts like wot I am can tell these things from, inter alia, the style of the front forks. The gaitered slider moved from the bottom (as shown and copied by the DKW/Bantam)) to further up the stanchion in 1939 to finally arrive at the top like other manufacturer's designs in 1948. It generally is supposed that the R12 Beamer was the first telescopic but it wasn't. Guess who? Right! Nimbus had this arrangement in production in early 1934.
