Audiophool from Sheffield.....
#16 Re: Audiophool from Sheffield.....
What counts as approved musics these days ? I haven't heard anything on the system which it hasn't suited (there's a challenge) and my tastes are pretty eclectic. My typical playlist can jump from Norah Jones to Shostakovich Cello to Prodigy to Symphony of Sorrowful Songs to Mark Knopfler to Dave Brubeck ...

And then there’s Phil....
One of my all time favourites hails from Penistone.

You need special permits from the dtb legislative body in order to play mantovani or des o'connor. The forms need to be approved by 3 others and completed in triplicate before permission is granted. ( a fast track application is available if there is a comedy element, but only in extreme cases)

Welcome Mick, hopefully the next Donny meet will be the 30 June next year.. in the meantime we have various meet ups at people's housesRhythMick wrote: ↑Thu Oct 19, 2017 8:59 am Hello all - newbie here from near Penistone.
I've built a couple sets of what I think are beautiful sounding flea-powered power amps (5842 -> 45) driving Lowther DX3s in Icon Audio cabs with subwoofer assistance. I'd love to get together with others and hear different systems, get feedback on mine.
The meet near Donny sounds interesting - how do I get myself an invite ?
Cheers
You just need to get in on them
Your more than welcome at mine
I'm an ex lowther user .. i have ex4 s and pm6 somewhere ...
And I use or have used px25 px4 cosser 2p ( the uk's 45) and various other valves over the years...
The tube manual is quite like a telephone book. The number of it perfect. It is useful to make it possible to speak with a girl. But we can't see her beautiful face from the telephone number

That's funny. I bought some records recently from a seller who includes bonus freebies in all purchases - mine was a Felicity Kendal exercise LP !Ant wrote: ↑Thu Oct 19, 2017 10:21 am You need special permits from the dtb legislative body in order to play mantovani or des o'connor. I threw the record but kept the cover.
