There's a fully working iPlayer app residing here http://downloads.sourceforge.net/projec ... e-repo.xml , and the same author has a supplementary plugin that gives out track info and what have you.
Hi Chris

this is the last hi def url I have for paradise:

http://stream-dc1.radioparadise.com:80/ogg-192m

I think it was trialled in January or February....I'm not sure I can go any higher with SB classic which is all I use at the moment. Even if the SB could go any higher I'm not sure I'd be able to tell the difference these days, and even if I could I do wonder if I could be bovvered....

Hi Ed

The stream I linked to is the 320kbps AAC stream.
Your player should handle AAC natively.

For what it would take effort wise (copying the link and pasting it into the appropriate place in the web interface) it's not worth not bovvering with.

This is the high quality stream http://37.130.228.60/aac-320.m3u
For the uninitiated (and thickos) how does one use this high quality stream ?

Would it work with a SB Touch ?

SB reports:
'Problem, unable to play file for paradise2'

file format for AAC is set native

It depends on how you use your Squeezebox Touch.
If its set up as a stand alone player then you'd need to manually enter the address somewhere, either directly on the player, or on the smartphone app you use to control the player.
If you run LMS on a separate device (as Ed, DtB and I do, and probably quite a few others too) then it's a case of addressing LMS from a web browser, and copying and pasting the link into the tune in URL box.

The Touch has no problem playing the stream.

There's something odd going on.
It might not be worth bovvering with ..... :bom:

Just a thought Ed.
I've just clicked on the link I posted, and it starting playing the stream on Foobar (coz that's wot I use as a media player).
Have you tried just clicking on the link, and seeing what happens?

Hi Chris

obviously been thinking along the same lines
I ran it from the firefox url and specified foobar when you first put the link up...it worked fine and sounded good

further digging

tried running it directly from the LMS interface and it showed playing for 3 seconds then returned to 0....
this is what I found in the log:

[17-05-12 12:58:55.1334] Slim::Player::Song::open (409) Error: Couldn't create command line for aac playback for [http://stream-uk1.radioparadise.com/aac-320]

It's getting very close to 'can't be bovvered'

It works fine from the "Tune in URL" bit of LMS.
That's a point - are you using LMS or Squeezebox Server?
Is the Buffalo still hosting your server?

gosh, you've got a good memory....
No, I've been using a zyxel 325v2 for the last 5 years...it's running LMS Version: 7.7.1 - r33735

but...there are loads of refs on the net for people that cant stream AAC in one form or another......

edit: I tried it on the 'tune in' interface in LMS and I get the same error in the log file as I did when triggered from the SB.
time to move on I think...

Well Ed, our setups are closer than you'd think.
Mine runs on a Zyxel NSA310, with the same LMS revision.
I still have my SB3, but I haven't used it since I bought the Squeezebox Touch players.

Havent hardly listened to anything at all this week, did get around to listening to steve hillage green, liked that. Bauhaus, errrr an acquired taste, did my head in by the end of the first side. Clannad, liked that too.

Havent got round to anything else, been too busy pulling my hair out with the g99

Two completely different but amazing artists I discovered today, plus one not quite so old favorite's most magnificent output:

1. Hiromi, the Trio Project, 'Alive':

2. CW Stoneking, 'Jungle Blues':

3. Too Many Zooz/Lucky Chops, 'Funkytown/I Feel Good':
