lawks and I thought I was the only person in England that liked Golden Earring.....Saw them at Hammersmith in the early seventies when Lynyrd Skynyrd were supporting them. After the first set(Lynyrd) finished half the audience left/disappeared, go figure...

Rinus Gerritsen was my hero for a time...

back on topic

a bit off the path Ant but have you tried 'Somewhere off jazz street' or 'Bohren & der Club of Gore'

I think I've mentioned jazz street before, apologies for repetition.

or notwist, nobodys mentioned notwist to the best of my knowledge. Recommend the album neon golden.

or 'I am Kloot', they used to play regularly in Hull but I haven't heard anything recently...

or streaming...most of my listening is via the streamed radio these days, it really highlights the stuff you've never heard of.

Blimey ed, I Am Kloot - saw them support Oasis in 1994 IIRC, along with another band I've forgotten. They stood near me in the audience watching Oasis.

As y'all may already be aware, I listen to radio a lot. Mostly Radio 2 (like right now this minute.)

Bought loads of stuff iTunes and vinyl on the strength of what I've heard on t'radio. Oo I like that, what is it I want it. :thumbright:

Buy it then play it. (When I'm not listening to the radio.)

Radio's deffo the cheapest way to listen to new stuff.....I'm not sure about radio 2 but Paradise certainly lead you off the beaten track, plus they stream the name of the song and the artist at the same time, something which the beeb stopped doing sometime back...baad beeb!

Have you kept up with Auntie's myriad changes to the streaming feeds, Ed?
There's a fully working iPlayer app residing here http://downloads.sourceforge.net/projec ... e-repo.xml , and the same author has a supplementary plugin that gives out track info and what have you.
