I think Papa Pass did a some work looking at different biasing methods, which could be why this doesn't show how the bias is produced. I think he decided that battery bias was his preferred option, but I could be mistaken as its a while since I read those articles...

The thread on DIY audio has not come up with a preferred method either. :wink:
