If you use Google Maps, and select Cycling as the mode of transport, you'll also get an interactive profile... e.g.
Goudhurst to Smarden evening ride
This is one of our favourite evening rides - from home to Smarden, quick pint/snack in The Chequers Inn, then back again - about 28 miles with a kick in the tail (the climb back into Goudhurst).
You can also use the options at the top to send the whole route + details to your mobile. Yes, you don't get some of the more exciting stats, e.g. total climb etc., but it's free and available to anyone

I'd have thought that the Bicycle Arms at Rotherfield was a more suitable destination!
The world looks so different after learning science. For example, trees are made of air, primarily. When they are burned, they go back to air, and in their flaming heat is released the flaming heat of the Sun which was bound in to convert air into tree.

Right....after my second fitting - dress to the right or left sir! they let me loose on the new uber-bike: bit of a compromise but still expensive in mere mortal terms. Fueled on wondrous carrot cake and excellent coffee I flew for a couple of miles - ppppphhhhhrrrrrooooaaaaaah - the busines. - eating up more miles I realised that SPD SL pedals were a significant margin better - more efficient probably, still room for movement but better on the hills, efficiency and push/pulling. Oh I like my SPD mountain bike type pedals but crikey! ...
toe clips are so pa say! I never thought I'd think that.
a whole new range of aches and pains --- front and back abdominal, thighs and knees. But, yeah I know... the bike and cycling feels so oooooo good.
Now I'm sorry to say I have a weekend of riot, boozing and general Bachanalia in the hell hole that is Brighton. No doubt the wife will require enormous sexual excess so bang goes my 'training' but I'll be back next week. SPD SL is here to stay.
New bike is Trek Domane SLR6 2017. So it's slipped through time to come to me. Impressive.

When I did a Google search there were several different variations, all horrendously expensive to me, but eminently affordable for a man of your means.andrew Ivimey wrote:Go you're kidding me....

Nice. Did you try your "if you think... ...I'll give you £120" line?andrew Ivimey wrote:New bike is Trek Domane SLR6 2017. So it's slipped through time to come to me. Impressive.
So what's in store for the poor Cannondale - is it destined for the great celestial bike rack?

For a man of my much more than modest means the Trek was a snip, hardly a hint of a shimmer on the surface of the vast ocean of my liquid assets.
I shall bequeath the C-C-c- Cannnondale to the 'needy, deserving, poor' just as soon as my agents can find such.

Can you give your agent my details then please ?andrew Ivimey wrote:For a man of my much more than modest means the Trek was a snip, hardly a hint of a shimmer on the surface of the vast ocean of my liquid assets.

Although I would not want you to escape this life purely for my benefit.

oops good point - for 'bequeath' think 'bestow' - much less funereal!
The Cannnondale is a '54' - too small for such a magnificent specimen as yourself I'd have thought.

That made me chuckle.
PS
looking at "wiggle" I'm probably a "56".

Isn't choosing a cycle size complicated ?
I've never heard of "ape index" before, but mine is neutral. ie arm-span same as height.
