I'm concerned about the potential challenge from Mike in 2023 though
If it's for the slowest ride to the pub, I'm in...

Riding slowly to the pub gives a dim view of your priorities and motivation Mike 😁

I disagree. I think it clearly highlights his priorities and motivation. You may take a dim view of them, but as they are not yours, no matter.

Lighten up Nick, I don't take a dim view of them at all, I was just jesting with an allusion to losing drinking time, hence the emoticon...

I keep forgetting how our two sense of humor keeps missing each other. I will let you know when I am not being light in future. It doesn't happen very often. In the absence of that, always assume humor.

Anyway. The solution to a slow pace impacting drinking time is just setting off earlier.

One of my sons came across this whilst cycling around London yesterday...

From Google Street View (Kevin being fed):

I'm continuing to recover from my flu-like bug, getting stronger and starting to ride well. I'm currently riding the Tour de Zwift, a five stage event, and yesterday I did another race to keep the effort going - 28.95Km (18.2miles) in 47:51 - I was pleased with the outcome, 39/96, though I'm not quite up to my pre-Christmas power output yet. Not many ahead of me in my age group though.

This weeks Tour de Zwift stage is a race up the virtual Mont Ventoux, only 22.8Km (14.2miles) but 1181metres (3875ft) of elevation.

Here are yesterday's stats, which include some extra miles for winding down.

Well that was thrilling, for all the wrong reasons

I'd have definitely been off on that bend that bent right twice, wasn't expecting the second kink.
