OK, Nick, I'll bite as my reliable computer expert, engineer and advisor is currently on holiday. Why would the RPi 3 be better than an RPi 2 as a basic music server?

Same price as the old one, same form factor, but less fiddly bits to add (cos they are there by default) and faster.

Thank you, your reply was rather expected. As I use wired Internet and have no use for Bluetooth, is there any advantage?

Yep. If you're wired, no difference except a lot faster...
Really quick though - perfectly acceptable desktop PC type performance from a credit card sized SBC.
Still only 1Gb of ram though..
