The tube manual is quite like a telephone book. The number of it perfect. It is useful to make it possible to speak with a girl. But we can't see her beautiful face from the telephone number

"Oscillates" more like our-SteveS!? In which case he'd probably like some Isolation I'd imagine! Must save a fortune being able to glue his own teef back in too :)

Yes having just blasted up and down the A2 a short way on it I can cheerfully say there should be obligatory use of a soft occlusal (bite) splint when attempting any speed in excess of 60mph!

Nick, the copper shielding, did you screen the all the casework and take all the shielding back to a ground point? I remembered I'd taken the volt range switch shaft to ground when I built the ATEST and I've got a sheet of Ultraperm 80 which I'm thinking of using to screen case.

On ATEST, the more shielding the better then thet rid of t he big safety resistors buys you another 8 db reduction in noise floor. I think Thomas did the mod, right Thomas?

Excuses, excuses Thomas ;) Seriously its worth doing if you are measuring very small signals.

Just for the sake of clarity, I should add, you do need to replace those resistors with something. As you probably realize, without them there's nothing to burn off the current when the protection diodes conduct on over load.
