#1 More RAM = Better Sound?

Post by Cressy Snr »

Today, the missus took delivery of a RAM kit for my mid -2011, Mac Mini. I fitted the two modules when I got in from school, taking the RAM from 2GB to 8GB.
Apart from the fact that the computer now runs Mac OSX Yosemite like lightning, the sound quality from the Mac's optical out port via iTunes has improved in quite a noticeable fashion; veils lifted and all that jazz.

Must be down to less hard drive thrashing or something.

I use a mix of the above and am VERY happy with the musical results. It still isn't vinyl, but in certain respects, I like some of the things it does better.
