I didn't get the cheaper but very popular DroidPlayer as it has half the memory (both RAM & flash) and 2 vs. 4 cores in the CPU, 4 vs. 8 cores in the GPU, a much older version of Android (that cannot be updated) etc...
By the time I did the sums and factored in the time required to get an RPi or similar going, I thought "Sod it", and spend the fairly small amount of moolah.
Arrives at the weekend!
Just bought one of these...
