Hi Philip, thanks for the welcome.
I am into phono stages but I like to do things a little differently to the norm (if there is one).

I am also into OTL power amps, have one under construction at the moment,

That's interesting Alan.

I've been interested in OTL amps for a while, but never quite got started on one. Is that for your own use or a possible new product ?

It's for a new product, definitely low volume though.

Will post some pictures when it's complete,

Thanks Alan. As it's for business I won't ask for circuit details.

Ah, good! This means that all the people I might need to consult when I finally get round to building or buying a phono stage are in the same place. Welcome!
The world looks so different after learning science. For example, trees are made of air, primarily. When they are burned, they go back to air, and in their flaming heat is released the flaming heat of the Sun which was bound in to convert air into tree.

No problem, it's based on this published circuit:
(will have to post after 3 days due to anti spam filtering)
but I am using different valves, as is my modus operandi.

However there is a distinct flaw with the driver stage which I have corrected, plus I have incorporated some other modifications,

Hi Philip pre65,

The circuit I am using is based on the Tim Mellow OTL, which I believe you know,

Ah yes, ACPEN on this site has built one or more, and was trying to persuade me to do so as well.

I have all the info on it, but it's way down on the projects list at the moment. I look forward to seeing your progress Alan. :)

Thanks for the interest Philip.
Does ACPEN have any feedback for this particular circuit?
As I stated earlier I have found a distinct flaw with the driver stage when the output level climbs, plus there are a couple of areas that can be improved upon.

Mind you as a monoblock with 4 output valves I achieved 60w into 8 ohms at clipping, I thought that was pretty impressive.

Here is a link to the thread.

If you need more info PM ACPEN (David), I'm sure he would be pleased to help.
