HI All
Just got a pair of Danbury ST28F-D495 Maplin Chokes from a member on WD a Bargain
But I see they have slightly different spec to the ones on mikes site
http://livinginthepast-audioweb.co.uk/i ... xfrmrvt495
I make one 8.25H@161.5 ohms and the other 6.78H@161.5 ohms Acording to my LCR meter
This is not a problem I just wondered why the difference between the same model numbers

I wouldn't worry Colin.
Neither inductance reading is likely to be right.
Paul has mentioned a couple of times, that LCR meters you buy
at Maplins or similar are about as much use as a chocolate fireguard for measuring the true inductance of a coil.
They are fine for capacitance and resistance of course.
Just use the chokes and take the spec as read. It is not worth worrying about...really.

Also there's bound to be some variation in manufacture. I remember having a lot of trouble trying to measure the inductance of the prototypes, NOT using a LCR meter. We were even messing about with different size cores until I found out the 'scope timebase wasn't calibrated properly
