I just wanted to mention again the track 'DMZ' from 'Does it Hurt' .
How could anybody (Percy Jones) conceive of such a complex and original piece of music ?
It's just breathtaking - and as I said on my speaker thread - a fierce test of any speaker system's ability to render bass cleanly and hold together .

Many years ago I did buy a Burman 50w combo, and a certain Mr Goodsall using one of their amps swung it for me.
It was the most unreliable piece of shite I ever bought - I returned it to the shop because it was forever killing preamp valves (I got through about a dozen in a 4 week period.
Sounded nice when it worked, but something with a glass envelope broke every time it was used ....

That's 'far from ideal' as Harry Hill would say !
Ps. 'Fragile!' is a jolly good track too .
I must get 1/2 more LP's though , I need to look at the discography .

You know a while back there was a thread or a post that asked summat along the lines of 'Phil Collins.... what happened?".
I found this ace picture that explains it all.

The world looks so different after learning science. For example, trees are made of air, primarily. When they are burned, they go back to air, and in their flaming heat is released the flaming heat of the Sun which was bound in to convert air into tree.

That picture makeS it appear that prog and pop are twin sisters , so phil left prog for pop ,her twin sisterDave the bass wrote: ↑Sat Feb 04, 2017 10:35 am You know a while back there was a thread or a post that asked summat along the lines of 'Phil Collins.... what happened?".

It is however not accurate .
PC'S first 3 solo albums are fine pieces of music and songs . They are not pop . After that he got old . He had 15 brilliant albums , solo and with genesis , he earned shit loads of money and sought out something easier - sound tracks and film songs . His remaining albums are mediocre .
However name me anyone with 15 studio albums of original songs it is essential to own . { admittedly 2 or so just as a drummer }
Phil did not get bad because he went pop , he got bad because he got old .

Frank zappa
I couldn't be bothered to count the last 2 but every one of beefhearts albums is worth 10 of PC's ..word!
