3.35 - 4.23 ish. "Release the sonic equivalent of a big brown Hessian sack full of slithery snakes over this section please"...is what I would've requested if I was in on this session in 1969, but I wasn't, I was only 4 at the time. Lucky ol' King Crimson eh?!

2 for the price of one.
1.38- 1.39 during the very last bit of the middle 8 breakdown there's a filthy bass riff to steer the song back into a verse. Killer riff and sound (IMO).
Later on along the same lines at 3.38 to 3.39 there's another killer phrase and fill. Its like Stevie gave permission to Nathan to go potty in the gaps Here he is doing it fo' real...

I sometimes think that if Oscar Peterson had been inclined to show off, then he might have been even more famous than he was. He rarely indulged in piano pyrotechnics the way some musicians do. Or, maybe he did, but he made it look so easy, that perhaps, it just slipped by unnoticed.
Look, and listen to what he does for nearly a full minute starting at 4:52.

Thanks Bob . I actually think Oscar Peterson was spectacular, but I know exactly what you mean by his ability to shift gears and make terribly difficult playing sound natural and unstrained .
One of the best things I've seen was this piece 'Con Alma' from an old 'Jazz 625' programme on the BBC that was shown recently .
Initially it's just a slow and elegant intro, then he gets into the groove a bit more. After about 1:35, though he just starts shifting gears into this incredibly complex playing which is still musical and unforced. He plays like that for over 2 minutes without any obvious bum notes, despite the fact that it's probably improvised, at least in detail .

Prompted by the announcement of their forthcomming tour...
Listen from the intro but watch out to what happens at 1.08-1.16, woooooooaaarrrrrhhh, that turnaround riff and the way the kick drum shifts from just playing on one to four on the floor. Thats clever (IMO), really really clever. Thats art that is.
