My latest squeeze

Lovely instrument to play, the compound radius fingerboard is a joy in itself, and there are loads of interesting pickup configurations too.

I'm well chuffed with it :D

Not bad. Not bad at all.

My first guitar has the same HSS pickup configuration. I really like using the humbucker with distortion - some great sounds there.

Just don't, um, mangle it.

Tell Fender that - they put it there 8)

Truth be told, I'm not a great fan of the normal Strat bridge pickup on its own.
Mix that bridge pickup with the middle one and the sound is great, but for me the bridge on its own doesn't really do it.
Apart from the one in the Clapton model I tried. That sounded great on its own.
I just wasn't smitten with the overall feel of the Clapton model, whereas the beauty in the picture had me heads down for a good forty minutes in the shop.

Woaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

It's even got a gear change lever to increase speed during solo's and 'eavy bits of riffage!

Nice one Chris! I could tell you were excited on the phone. It was the dribble coming out the ear piece that gave it away :-)

that is fabulous Chris,
good to see that Fender have moved with the times,

most of us oldies prefer the single pick up but that's because we grew up with Buddy Holly and Hank Marvin, can you imagine if Bert Weedon had played one :)

Chris,

Will this, by any chance, make it to Owston?

While we're on what we might like to buy, I'm saving up for one of these...

If I do well in my final A-level exams, that's what I'm treating myself to. If I like it, obviously - the local music shop can get one in for me to try, but I haven't done so yet.

Funny you should mention it....

I was thinking something along those lines myself.
I wouldn't be surprised to find out that Fender have their compound radius necks made by Warmoth.

If money were no object, and I could learn to play it, something like this perhaps. :)

once upon a time when he lurked under Kew Bridge He made me a beautiful
custom Strat, sadly hard times struck and it had to go
