Oi! Thats my backing band.......

Groove is slack because I don't play as often as I should. I'll re-record it for the official album natch.... :-)

Excellent !
It's a classic of its type .

Does the name 'DavetheBass1' imply that there are more of you out there ?

'Ere Chris, here's a good 'un, It's a really good slap 'exercise' actually. Simple pattern but hard to play all the notes at equal volume. You've also have to get the damping and muting right to get it to sound half decent too. Clicky picky below.

...if you want to work on and loosen up (and tighten up!) yer thumb sound have a go at this, its really easy but hard at the same time. Don't cheat with compressors 'n techno schnizzle :-) The riff comes from a toon by Hawkwind called Master of the Universe. Bass riff is easy to hear at 4.48 ish..

Good call our-Ed.

Gabe Nelson grooves like a groover from Groovetown.

Cycle o' 5ths.

before somebody says we betta get a room I'll bow out.......in regard to putting up examples for the yoof to look at you've just made me realise I was probably throwing him in at the deep end.......

my take, if it's any good in an instructive way, is that the full on bubbling runs the risk of very quickly losing site of the groove.....If you've got to concentrate too hard on finding the next note(cos yoo in a hurry dude) it's very easy to lose sight of which side of the beat you're meant to be on

Hey Dave....
I didn't realise it was you in that audience at the beginning, studying Roco's technique.

That DTB gets everywhere don't he :)
