If you want to post a link of the part, email me at "nick at lurcher dot org" with the image and I will post for you.

Was that the demise of Mr. Ecigarettes ?

Didn't realise it'd been so long since I was messing with the bass! Yesterday I put some brown wood filler into the grooves where the frets used to be and then used sandpaper followed by wire wool to get the neck smooth. It really wasn't smooth before.
After messing with the action, truss rod, and shims behind the neck, I've got something usable. Action's still a bit high, but whatever. It plays and the intonation is okay.
A while back I got a Vox 2w all-valve head for guitaring, but I got it out for the bass and it sounds rather good plugged into one of my stage monitors (8" coaxial jobbie, nothing special).
Slowly getting the groove back. I'll be revisiting the videos further back in this thread once I've practiced up a bit.

Not yet, but getting there.
Picked up Learn to Fly by the Foo Fighters for a start. I know that track pretty well.
Still getting to grips with Sultans of Swing. The tabs are good. My fingers, not as good.

Sultan's of Swing? on Bass guitar??? (- not the bass bit, that's easy.) Phroaaarrr!
This winter I've been doing lots of guitar playing - even a couple of classes but I'm in the doldrums - looking for direction, perhaps.

Malvern is west, you like Malvern.

Actually, I might be going on a coach trip to the Morgan factory in June, looking forward to that.

Morgan factory is good.
Musically, Malvern seems covered by Elgar's mates - not my favourite cup of tea.
Upton, just down the road, however is a hotbed of great musical festivals; jazz, rock, blues and country at various times of the year.
