Maybe the difference it makes is superficial ?

I didn't do a comparison with just changing the resistor values as i was in a rush but with all the mods in the BOM done i thought there was an improvement

I assume you are talking about the opamp decoupling caps....
The originals are 100nF
The upgrade replacements are 47uF cerefines
These are available from hifi collective amongst other suppliers

there are three surface mount voltage regulator to solder on and I haven't soldered surface mount components before so whats the best way to go about it?

I use a little bit o' blu tack to hold em in position temporarily and not too long with the iron. A tiny dab of fresh solder on the pads of the pcb helps to flow onto/around the legs of devices too.

I have had a go at soldering the regulators to the board and came across a problem straight away, while tinning the pads on the board the pad for the centre pin on the 5v reg just came straight off the board I hardly touched it but I have checked the other centre pads on the other two regs and they don't appear to be connected to anything else on the board an the centre pin seems to be connected to the tag at the top of the reg and this is connected to other tracks so I think it doesn't matter

The board looks good quality I'm really surprised that it got damaged so easily anyway I've got it fully assembled now just need to find a couple of transformers, its supposed to use a 15-0-15v and a 0-9v but says that you can use anything from 13-15v, I have a 9v xformer but only have a 12-0-12v one but as the mains runs around 245-250v round here I think it may do the job.
