I've got a 2A3 PSE here, and it is a bit weedy with one valve. ( But i think it sounds better). This is one of the reasons i considered going PSE with Rocky.

It drove the triangular MLTLs ok but struggles with open baffles a bit.
Lovely sounding amp though, but that could be down to all the mods done by Tony M.

Yes this is Jonothan's approach too

I think though (and this is where its OT), the biggest problem with the cancelation, is it only creats this NULL point, for a precise 211 load line
Brilliant conseptualisation

, so its only real for a perfect resistive load. Put a real speaker on, then you get nasty effects where the distortion specta is all over the place as the frequency and phase dependent load line moves in and out of matching the 6sn7. The 6sn7 having a resistive load, remains constant under these conditions. And by forcing more distortion from the driver, I think I remove the variable distortion spectra that I was getting.
there will be a point between the beginning of your urica moment and the end where you are stretching the point, but it's a nice idea and certainly describes stuff we lesser mortals who just change things empirically and still don't have spice sussed experience

The Budism I read was all about keeping a Honda on the road and stoping driping taps.

I think I've achieved it.

can you use spice incorporating an electrical model of the loudspeaker as well ? so you can look at a model of the real situation ?

and could you get the driver to follow the behaviour of the output valve ?

Yes, but the electrical model is only part of the issue, there is the mechanical interaction with the electrical model. You could use the model that Steriophile use to simulate a speaker load, but I think it will still be a lot simpiler than reality, as there won;t be the back emf from the inertia for a start.

Yes, but if nobody is there to hear the explanation, does the joke still make you laugh?

If you manage to hear one hand clapping you'll be able to laugh at my joakes (however it's spelt).

In SE if an output valve is happy with a 5K transformer and I use a 3K trafo, this gives more plate voltage, more distortion and makes the amp louder.

Is this the case with PP?

or, if happy at 5K in PP and I use 8K output transformers, plate voltage goes down, the amp is quieter and less demanding on the PSU / rest of the amp ????
I was totally looking for something else, as always, and I came across this, and damn me if it didn't remind me of you.......
