Its not a 100% fix as SB/USB crashed last week on Hi-Res files - still probably the 'art' that breaks the camel's back though)

Oh but I want to scratch the itch!

Well I'm quite happy playing FLAC's with Fubar or Amarok (depending whether I am booted up in windows or Linux) through the Muse which changes usb into something the ebay dac appreciates then the ebay dac through a better opamp, and the net result is so close to vinyl I prefer to listen to it than change anything.

So at the moment these problems everyone has with squeeseboxes are thankfully like the national news of sodliers dying but they aren't British.

Thankyou, Paul, for that interesting obeservation and simile. I'll sleep safely in my bed then knowing that you are as happy as Larry and that we troubled people will not be receiving any further pearls of wisdom on this subject from Scarborough.

Arf, arf, arf etc.

well you'll notice I have no way of helping you so I don't offer any misguided opinion.

If I could afford a SB I would have one on the say so of those people with them whose opinion I value. But I can't so I won't. but I am picking up the impression there are software glitches whether SB's fault or not, they seem to dog some of you.

ME? It's hard enough geting Linux to work off a new printer. I have to cut and paste other peoples instructions into terminal, on average takes half a day. Do you think I want to try integrating a SB? Maybe if you gave me one I might. But I don't look forward to it.

Maybe I'm just a "Luddite", but I'm happy enough with CD at the moment.

The sort of problems that some have with software and/or other issues frighten me off. :)

Oh my cup runneth over - Philip is happy! guffaw etc.

(Now how should we interpret that? Sarcasm? yes! But do I wish Philip any harm and that he will only be my mate if he agrees with me? NOPE)

onwards!

And the latest - - - - - - - - Using A 16GB USB stick is not good enough for the SB to play 192kHz files. Over wi-fi it will - over USB it won't.

So there you go.

Thats what our-Chris has been bangin' on about MrI.

Y'see with a USB stick you're relying on the in-built TinySC server. It can't play/handle 24Bit 192Khz files without the help of full-blown SBS installed on a host computer.

TinySC is fine with 24Bit/96Khz and below.
