Well, that was confusing.
After trials with the 3 ratios and several loading options, I've come to the conclusion I prefer 36x into 47k, which, because the impedences are equal means the step-up ratio is actually 18x.(Info from Analogue Dept article)
The testing was hardly scientific, ending up using a different deck, a 401/Acos Lustre/103.
Whats the correct name for a collection of turntables?
Christine thinks its either a hinderance or a nuisance.
I suggested overload or roundabout.
The local paper has recently yielded 2 WEM guitar amps fo £10, one has a nice set of Mullards in it, and a Transcriptor Hydraulic Reference with a normal platter. More toys.

'S funny but 20 years ago I wondered why anyone needed more than one record deck... When most people are happily listening to 128kbps mp3s why do I need four turntables? And why do I want a couple more? Must be mad I guess.
