there is no wave in a flac file, it's just a bunch of meaningless numbers......until you put it through the flac algorithm, then the numbers come back to the original wave file.....
just convert the flac to wav and then run audacity on it to edit it...then convert it back to flac......
edit: ooops Clive already said that

There's nowhere you can be that isn't where you're meant to be

That would have been my answer tooClive wrote:You probably have more luck converting it to a WAV, editing that then creating a new FLAC.

yeah but no but...
I've just discovered how to download .Flac files and after half the night to get that 24bit/96kHz or whatever it is audiophile recording, it won't play... at all or a bit is missing off the end. So I can't convert such to a WAV hence my question.

This is a pain in the butt with some flacs I have. The wav versions (with errors) still play but simply stop prematurely, the flacs just don't work when there's a problem. Although a wav is at least twice the size to download I'd be far more comfortable having a master copy as a wav and then generate the flac.andrew Ivimey wrote:yeah but no but...

Ah. You didn't say it was a corrupted FLAC file.andrew Ivimey wrote:yeah but no but...

I assumed it was a good one.
All I can suggest is download it again. Good luck.

to download once and find corruption is unfortunate, to download three times and find the same evil smacks of carelessness!

The file at source is knackered then. It really is like that (not nuffink that's happened to it during downloading)

Perhaps someone else can download the FLAC file and see what happens ?
