I still have a pair of DN12 (SP1004) crossovers from the Concertos (Kef kit 3)

Must be a budgie, going cheap ! :wink: :lol: :lol:

Actually, I could use the 4 inductors for speaker tuning, why did I not think of that before. :oops:

Most certainly yes. Even just removing the tweeter, running a 4" chunk of PVC tube out the back (or a small enclosure) and an FF85 or Alpair6 or somesuch and you are off to the races.

11v into 8ohm is a few watts, about as many as my little Tripath amp will do (runs on 12v).

A cheaper alternative to the FF85k would be a pair of the Visaton drivers I used in my floorstanders. They're £30 per pair delivered (there or abouts), but good enough for a mess-about.

Well, it seems to have taken me 12 years to find this thread! However, I've had the pictured set up around the same time so thought I might show it - as was mentioned, the original KEF arrangement was awful but the box and bass driver I kept - the box on top contains Monacor drivers and homemade xover at 400Hz and 3kHz - sounds great
