Ahah! The man who set me on the path to ruin!
The world looks so different after learning science. For example, trees are made of air, primarily. When they are burned, they go back to air, and in their flaming heat is released the flaming heat of the Sun which was bound in to convert air into tree.

Hi Acorn

my brother in law is area something or other for a firm that make and sell them in France. Not sure if that's useful info or not...but I should know a bit about them from all the ear bending I've had.......

They are big in France(more sun I guess) and they are sold on the basis that you can sell excess energy back to the power company....

which gets me back to my fave gripe about how edf will control all our energy within a few years...remember agincourt???
There's nowhere you can be that isn't where you're meant to be

It's not just the French; UK PLC seems content to sell just about anything to anyone such is the belief in market forces. Soon, not only will we not make much but we won't own much either.

Anyway, on a more parochial note, outside a local supermarket I was stopped by a Scottish chap asking if I would like to switch my electricity supply to Scottish Power. I asked him what the response would be if an English guy approached shoppers ouside a Glasgow supermarket asking if they would like to switch to 'English Power'..... I'm not with EDF either.

Anyway, welcome aboard.
