At last!
#1 At last!
Hello All,
I,m David Woodnott from Whitstable in Kent (South of Essex). I,ve recently had the good fortune to meet Dave the Bass when he collected some 811A's from me. We had a good long chat (well, I think I listened - mostly!) I've been looking at the group for a while and Dave's visit decided me to join in. The only other group member I've had contact with is Mike H, who has supplied me with Danbury components for some years (around 7 I think) We often chat and exchange idea's via email so now will be able to do it 'properly' via the group! and hopefully get some other input too. Not sure quite how much intro to do but - here goes! I started out as an apprentice (remember them?)in Radio & TV in '59 with Rediffusion in SE London. Eventually to end up in technical training dept till I left in '91. Set up my repair business in Video Camera (later camcorder) servicing which I continued till 2007 when I retired at 65. This work was all at component level on multilayer pcb's with surface mount components. Very tiny! Although I no longer do this type of work I'll be happy to advise in any way I can if anyone should want it?
During the past 15 years I've built lot's of amps. even an OTL using 6C33C's (tried to get Dave interested in building one!) also, speakers - mostly of the TL variety. Well, probably too much info, but as it covers the best part of 50 years - there's a lot more!
Hoping to be of use to the group and gain from it,
Best wishes,
David.

Hi,
Glad to have you. I am playing with a OTL headphone amp design at the moment (6080), so some of your OTL info would be interesting.

Whahey!
Hello David, good to see you here. Thanks for joining up, I think you're going to like it here. See how you've made Nick excited already
6C33C OTL ..... ooooo.... tempt me more! There's so many things I want to build and try, I'm gonna try some of this retirement stuff, it looks fun. Our very own Andrew Ivimey has 'done' an OTL using // output pairs of ...... summat I just can't remember right now.
For your information David, Phil is at least 90, he's just in denial!
DTB
PS... OOoooooo.... and tell them about your 1930's vintage Pentode amps/experiments David.

Hi All,
Thank's for the 'welcome's' to the group. What a friendly lot!
Suppose I'd better get something posted then! I've been trying recently to get some 'good sounds' from early valves - but not the expensive ones! (Hope I get in the right section!)
Will post shortly.
David.

As intimated, he's been "lurking" here for some while so I'm given to understand
