#1 EL34 / KT66 SET
I thought I'd better start a new topic as this will be different to a conventional "Rocky".
The adaptors to use octal sockets in a septar size hole have been made. I used 6mm high spec dural and machined the top by 2mm so it was flush with the chassis and the back was machined so the octal base was flush with the top.

I could have made some thin sheet alloy ones in half the time, but time is something I have and I enjoy turning things on the lathe.

Old story, but when I used to work in industrial process control I learned from the old wiremen to leave all the fixing screws in line. That way you could always tell (when it mysteriously went wrong) if someone had removed something.

This morning I have stripped out all the unnecessary wiring from the 826 set up and reinstated a 6.3V AC heater supply to the new octal base.
The first cap in the chassis is 1uf motor run, which may not be big enough to get the target HT voltage, but I will leave it for the time being and measure the HT when the amp is completed. Easy enough to sub in a 2uf or 10uf if necessary.
Not much more can be done for the time being, so I better get into "garden mode" while the sun is (sort of) shining.
