Yeah, you tell 'em.... ya daft language boyeee!
DIET. there's a YouTube link to a very lengthy Jeff Cotton interview that sprang up after that vid in the suggestions, that could be a nice way to spend about 2 hours getting another perspective on life in the TMR era MB.

I'm sure that '... TMR era MB' makes perfect sense to the cognoscenti but I'm not so I don't.
Itsxaxwhile since I subjected my sanity to a deliciousness of Beefheart, sure blows some cobwebs away... marvellous!

Our-Ali....Scottish?! I never knew. He kept that quiet. Arf!
For anyone interested, that Jeff Cotton telephone interview can be found here...
Its conducted by that same fella that did the 'Frownland' dismantling, Samuel Andreyev (not Scottish, ha!).

Good link thanks , I will check it out now on TV, but I have a strong suspicion I landed on this a little while back ...
I'll keep you posted.
I will say that I listen to TMR ( sorry Andrew ) about every year, or maybe 6 months, usually on the way up to hols in the Lakes, but the moment I hear 'Frownland', the hairs stand up on the back of my neck. Maybe it's fear of complexity ?

No no no no no no, silly me. I was annoyed that I knew it was easy but I couldn't think what. I actually have it in my phone! Incidentally my favourite album is Safe as Milk but that's more to do with association and teen memories.

At around the 58 minute mark Jeff is being quizzed about is vocal style, he breaks into a bit of Pena. At 70 years old his voice can still do that bonkers manic delivery. I was stunned. And listened to him do it again, and again. Just like CB got him to do it 50 years ago. Samuel has interviewed Rockette as well, I haven't listened to that one yet.

It's in the queue, Ed, you're currently second in the queue. I realised that I hadn't listened to more than a few minutes of the Jeff Cotton interview before - giving it my full attention now, really excellent.

I haven't quite finished the interview with Jeff Cotton, but it's breathtaking. One of the finest things I've come across. Should be saved somewhere for posterity. Ranks up with the Arena 'Beat Generation' film, or Mark Cousins' interview with David Lynch.
Thanks Dave

S'pleasure,.
If you hadn't posted the Frownland analysis we'd have not known about Samuel's epic feat of getting all 4 of the living MB members interviewed by the same intelligent interviewer.
I'm 'doing' Rockette tonight, then back tracking to Drumbo.
