Slate plinth option for Garrard

Regardless of the demise of Slatedeck, I am aware there is a company doing Slate plinths for Garrard turntables. I know about http://www.slateage.com/ I'm not talking about this company. There is another which has an online page but for the life of me I can't find it. It might even be the company that upset Darren from Slatedeck. I just want to find the link. Google doesn't seem to help. Can anyone point me in the right dirrection?

Greg,there was that company that made slate speakers for that guy "twelvebears" on AOS.It's probably listed in their links section.Very good prices apparently.

I am pretty sure that the slate company that Darren was dealing with was selling plinths direct I just can't find the link, I'll keep trying

Yes, you are right, but actually I can't be bothered to search the company out, especially as they did the dirty on Darren and Slatedeck and marketed seperately.

I think my quest has been found with Slateage.

I've finally got round to fitting my 401 on to a slate plinth.

The hard work was done by Andrew I (our man in Beda's ford) and all I had to do was make another armboard and grind a bit away to clear the Rega mounting tube.

I gave it a rub with some wet and dry and then a wipe of Colron "antique oil".

Initial impressions are a definite improvement all round.

It's a pity the plinth now shows up the tatty baseplate.

Phil where did that thick lump of slate come from? I have seen chinease slate tiles but they are only about 10mm thick. that slate of yours looks chinease but it is very thick.

Did Andrew cut it to shape for you?

It's from the Lake District.

Andrew has family up there. The holes were cur using a drill and angle grinder. It's not "pretty" underneath compared to using a water jet machine but far cheaper.

so you can buy lumps of Cumbrian Slate that thick quite easily up there can you?
