Good news f'sure but how did you get a contraption like that down a typical busy high street!?

Seem to remember Devon and Cornwall police doing this by putting officers in the upstairs front seats of local buses.
The world looks so different after learning science. For example, trees are made of air, primarily. When they are burned, they go back to air, and in their flaming heat is released the flaming heat of the Sun which was bound in to convert air into tree.

Oh well, bit Heath-Robinson though.

Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too?

Would that be accurate enough to pinpoint a mobile phone, yes? Great!

It is great news. But the government should be clear to the people on the other end of the phone call that they are equally responsible. In this day and age the caller could easily display as part of the technology.
It is the bane of my life that people think its perfectly alright to talk to you when you are driving.
I’ll give you a snapshot of working life. All trades now and all companies that send workers to jobs require you phone forward. The enlightened companies also ban the use of mobile phones while driving. That means no handsfree calls either. It is recognised there is a danger of lack of conscentration when involved in a conversation while driving. On todays roads you need full conscentration on driving alone.
I dont have hands free and I dont make or take a phone call while driving.
Semhere is how my phone forward sounds. “Its Paull from Fixx, Im setting off from Scarborough to repair youre boiler” …. “What time will you get here” I cant exactly say with all the road works today and I cant set off until you put the phone down, but I’ll get there as soon as I can”. That makes them understand to get off the phone pronto. Well most people. Some morons still want you very soon and keep talking on the phone to you. So youre time is wasted, and you cant even put the key in the ignition.

Just have to post this lovely photo of a Firecrest, the UK's smallest bird at just 5g.
The photo is from the Marden Wildlife group - that's the next village to us and where I keep my bees - they do a lot of ringing and recording of migrant birds and have some super photographers... the photo below is of a bird that's just been ringed then released.

I would rather the police deployed thier resources to cut down on anti social behaviour and theft .

Guessing you're referencing the mobile phone topic, selfishly putting others at risk of injury, or worse, seems pretty anti-social to me.Daniel Quinn wrote: ↑Tue Mar 12, 2024 12:13 pm I would rather the police deployed thier resources to cut down on anti social behaviour and theft .

Is it me, or has the WD forum gone down? Keep getting “access denied”.
