Now you've found this area feel free to ask any questions. Most of the founders here are dedicated HiFi buffs with an extensive knowledge of diy valve amplifier building. Add to that most of us also use Vinyl and build our own speakers then this forum has great potential.
But only if you use it.......!!

And just to say, I guess we need to create some more sections, so all suggestions welcome.

You have a nice large section of 40mm Slatedeck boxed up, just needs a final polish and it'll be on it's way Paul :D
Just bear with me for a couple of weeks.

Could I suggest a General section for non sectioned posts.
And Slatedeck & Garrard sections, is that reasonable? I have a link on my site leading people to this forum so it would be good to keep these messages together. Maybe sub sections of the same category?
Just thinking out loud, I'll leave it up to the board to decide.

Thanks

Perfect, of course it's early days so we'll see how it goes. I'm refering to Lenco's and other idlers here, such as Thorens. I know you favour Lencos yourself Nick, so no wish to exclude them or allow peeps to think that way.

It'll all fall into place in time :D

Well favour may be a bit strong, I have several of them at the moment, but currently I am using an sp10.

As you say, my hope is this place will grow into something nice, no point in trying to hard too push it into a shape its users don't want.

Howsabout a beginners corner? A section for newbies like myself where anyone can look to how us newbies amp building skills are developing.

Then we wouldn't get in the way of the big boys and the big amps using little known Ukranian Radar Death Ray DHT's.

:D

In all seriousness a beginners bit would be good though, just an idea. 'Fisher Price/Little Tikes amp build DIY HiFi corner'?

Apart from Nick the big boys are not doing anything, or doing it at a slow pace.

I remember when I was like you Dave, I changed something every day, and the big boys then were all very encouraging and had loads of knowledge to impart, I thought what a wonderful find this internet is? Then I turned into one of them, just giving out the knowledge and not geting round to doing anything.

There are different phases to this thing.

Oh Paul, would you like me to encourage you instead? :D "Go-on Mr B, build a big 'un"...there you go...hows that!

Yeah, I can imagine the 'phase' swings. I'll go quiet (lucky for you guys eh!!) over summer as I'll be out skating and away for days etc etc.

Winter is when I'm in my most 'tweaky and learning' mode.
