Well my 833 has gone on holiday to Lens place for a few weeks. He's
going to stick it on the end of his 211 amp and see what gives. I
briefly went back to the PX4 and both Len and I agreed it was muddy
and unfocused in comparison to the 833. The bass sounded almost non
existent even though the PX4 sounds louder than the 833. Though
there's not much in it.
I will get around to an interstage order once I have moved and settled
a little. That should help with a little more output. Not that I
really need it.

Hi Colin,
If you look at the second shelf down you can just make out he has used what looks like a metal plate as a heat shield. Even so it still must get warm over those 833s. I measured mine at 170 deg C running at 140ma.
ie they do indeed create an enormous amount of heat esp as a pair.
I have something in mind for mine, but I'll keep it to myself till I know it works OK.
Besides, my stand has slate shelves, no amount of heat would affect it. The shelf would then act as a radiator so wouldn't be a problem.

Has anyone got any links to submerging valves in oil for cooling?
I'm looking to run the 833s at higher voltages as an experiment but will need to cool them.
I have a nice seamless glass chemical tank and was thinking of suspending them upside down in oil. Apart from great cooling it should also look quite pretty.
