#1 Nicks OB speakers
Hi Nick-have the details of your James D designed OB speakers been published anywhere ?
If not can they be ?

I need to do this for Tony as well.
The only reason I didn't publish it before were
1. Its not my design and James isn't about at the moment
2. Until a few montsh ago, the xover was still in a state of flux
3. I couldn't be arsed with prople telling me I had done it wrong on the WD site
I will get it organised and post what I know here.

Come come Nick! surely you can't mean that. Nobody on there is in the slightest bit opinionated or a know-it-all.Nick wrote:

I will rephrase that, I don't mind being told I was wrong, I am used to that, I just don't always want to argue the case.

Hi Scott, thank god, someone here who has a clue about speakers , saves me being asked embarising questions about stuff I know bugger all about.
The WD comment was a more general thing about history, not about the OB's in particular.

It is no secret I am not doing anything at moment. My pathetic attempts at refining my ob's which were actually nice at eggborough when they first appeared have failed.
Quite honestly Peter Assassinated them at Witham, I got depressed, and now just listen to mltl's with the fostex in. Not much bass but otherwise nice.
In the end I think I would like James's ob's because I prefer the ae driver to the fostex in Nick's other areas are less clear cut. Though James's ae's can sound nasty more often they can also sound so much better than the fostex.
for the mean time I will probably recover to the postion I had at first egg showing, and let other people muck about with speakers.

Paul, your OBs sounded really nice at Egg, and most commented on how much they liked them. TBH, I can't really remember what they were like at Witham, but not all speakers sound right in each room. I couldn't live with the sound my 208e horns made at Owston for instance, they'd need some tweaking to get right.
Anyway, Peter seems to be a bit of a critic of OBs in general (apologies if I've misrepresented him). He seems to prefer box speakers and PP amps, which is fine, but not everyone does. Get them lashed up again and give them a listen. Or you could buy a pair of Peter's speakers and pretend they're for you...

Well he's got a huge vested interest to protect, and I don't blame him, so I moved here.
They did wish me happy 50th on the WD and the Radford site though. How sincere! When I went to the dentist on Monday he asked if I had a party on Saturday, then proceeded to plunge a drill into my cavity.
Think I prefer the dentists well wish, has more meaning.
Sites that wish you a happy birthday are like those old university friends who photocopy a newsletter and send it totally impersonalised to all old friends at Christmas. I never read them, all they say is we are great are getting greater and are a lot better than you and always will be.
If they were any good I'd have kept in touch with them!
